How to Fix Gmail is having trouble with Google play services

This problem mostly occurs when you have just flashed a custom rom or restored from a backup. Sometimes it happens after you reset your phone, clear your cache or any other action that has stopped Google Play services from synchronizing. If you are facing the issue of Gmail is having trouble with Google Play Services whenever you open your Gmail, then read on to find the solution.
You may also see a loading bar which never stops and Gmail shows getting your messages. The remedies depend on the type of device you are using to access your Gmail account. there are many fixes available for this problem, but you must have a full backup of your phone’s data. After getting a full backup of your data, you can try these steps:
Clearing data for Google Play services
Clearing out from your phone will resolve any conflict between Google Play services and Android system. The conflicts often occur after you have updated a firmware or reset your phone. This process may disrupt other apps which rely on it. You may be asked to re-login an app which has been using Google Play services as a sign in Gateway.
Steps to clear data for Google Play services:
· From your Android devices, go to the settings app.
· Scroll down to look for apps or installed apps.
· Click on “All’, this will show all apps installed by you.
· Find Google play services and tap on it.
· Now you will get options like-clear cache, clear data or clear cache and data. It depends on which device you are using.
· Now restart your phone.
· Now try to open Gmail.
Uninstalling and Reinstalling Google Play services
If above method doesn’t work for you, try this method. See the steps below
Uninstalling Goggle play services:
· Go to app settings.
· Go to installed Apps or apps.
· Tap All.
· Tap on Google Play services from it.
· Tap uninstall updates or uninstall.
· Click OK.
· Now Reboot your device.
· After rebooting your Android will reinstall and update your Google play services automatically. For some devices, you have to install it by installing APKs.
· Reboot your device once again after installation.
· Now open Gmail and sign in to your Gmail account. now you will be able to receive emails and messages once again.
Reset Factory data
If nothing works for you, go for this option. But you may lose some of your data, files, photos etc from your device. So do a complete backup of your phone before proceeding. This will get back your phone to its default state. Just go to app settings then backup and reset. Now click on factory data reset. Or follow the below procedure:
1. Boot your device into recovery mode.
2. Click on Wipe cache partition to wipe all the cache and data of all apps.
3. After rebooting, open Gmail to check if the error is gone.
4. If the problem persists, boot your phone back to recovery mode again.
5. Go to Wipe data/Factory reset.
6. Now your phone is reset to its factory defaults.
